Job Purpose
The Business Development Manager will have full responsibility for the development of the business. Their primary objective will be the continued development of the agency to maximise income generation and profit for In addition they will have ultimate responsibility for the service provision of the agency supported by the Care Services Manager/Registered Manager. The post-holder will lead, direct and manage business operations across the organisation.

The post offers opportunities for innovation, development and growth of existing services. By working with counterpart roles in the Trust, the post holder will contribute in developing joint working between organisations to maximise the services capacity to provide care.

Key Responsibilities
· To develop business growth of the agency and to ensure the overall management of the agency providing first class domiciliary care.
· To formulate strategies, measurable objectives and detailed plans which are designed to achieve the financial and operational targets’ of the agency. Ensure support for strategies, objectives and plans through consultation and negotiation with stakeholders and other interested parties.

Leadership & Management
· To lead the development of existing and new business with the aim of generating a healthy profit to be reinvested into the charity trust
· Line Management of the Care Service Manager to ensure they have support to fulfil their responsibilities in the day-to-day management of the Care Agency.
· Defines values and principles which take into account the requirement, expectations and policies of the Agency.
· Provide strategic direction and agree clear, measurable targets with the care team to ensure business objectives are achieved.
· To take responsibility for recruitment and retention of all staff.

Relationship Management

· Maintain relationships with commissioners and external stakeholders
· Maintain and develop relationships with colleagues in the Trust.

Service and business development

· Development of existing and new income streams. Managing implementation and growth.
· Formulate strategies, measurable objectives and detailed plans which are designed to achieve the financial and operational targets
· Collaborative working with commissioners and professionals from a range of organisations and sectors to strengthen existing services and to create new opportunities for development of new services.
· Development of workforce plans including competency frameworks to meet operational requirements of the organisation.
· Produce and oversee communication and marketing material, including use of social media, instructing and taking advice from professionals as relevant
· Manage change, including internal and external communications
· Produce reports and updates for the CEO and Board of Directors.

Managing Financial Performance

· Management and monitoring of budgets including analysis, reporting and action on variances
· Work with the Finance Team to develop budgets and forecasts for existing and new business
· Monitoring of credit control and action on disputes and bad debts (alongside Finance Team)


· Review monthly quality assurance audit reports from the Care Manager.
· Complete 6 monthly quality assurance audits in line with CQC’s outcome areas.

· Work collaboratively with other members of management team
· Meet legislative and regulatory requirements
· Attend workshops and conferences as required
