Care Services Manager
Responsible Manager in charge of day to day operation of A domiciliary care service provided by an established Local Charity. This position involves management and recruitment of Domiciliary care workers as well as all aspects of the domiciliary care service. In particular ensuring that the process and care of clients is meeting the clients expectations as well as CQC Requirements and guidelines so as to maintain the “good” rating. Ideally to improve to “outstanding” CQC Rating. Position is based in Lymington Permanent full time position, salary is dependant on relevant experience £28-£30K Per annum applicants must have managerial experience within either a domiciliary care service a care home or assisted living facility.

Job Purpose

The post holder is responsible for day to day service management of the agency, providing strong leadership to ensure the service provided is to the highest quality. The post-holder will also carry out the role of Registered Manager in relation to CQC responsibilities. You will be responsible for the provision of services, training and management of the care team.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Management
· Line management responsibilities for all service based staff to include; Care Coordinator, Administration and all care roles.
· Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders in the business including employees, clients, local healthcare facilities and GPs.
· Maintain and develop systems that underpin performance management of Care staff. This includes supervision and appraisal, team meetings and absence monitoring.
· Liaise with the Business Manager to create strategies to promote recruitment and retention of care staff.
· Coordinate the identification, review and management of the Agency processes and systems in line with changes in care practices and recommended national standards.
· Ensure that services are provided to clients at the agreed time and to the relevant specification and quality, and consistent with individual assessments which have been undertaken.
· Ensure that all activities and services are delivered in a manner which is conducive to safe systems of work and not likely to endanger the health and safety or welfare of anyone who provides or receives such services.
· Defines values and policies which take into account the requirement, expectations and policies of the Agency. Ensure that key operational policies are written, maintained and available to employees and clients as appropriate.
· In conjunction with the Business Development Manager to formulate strategies, measurable objectives and detailed plans which are designed to achieve the financial and operational targets. Ensure support for strategies, objectives and plans through consultation and negotiation with stakeholders and other interested parties.
· Deliver training to ensure that all staff have the appropriate level knowledge and skill to fulfil their duties.

Quality
· To ensure that care standards and all legislative and regulatory requirements are met.
· To constantly look to improve the service through consultation and feedback with the clients.
· To fulfill CQC registered manager responsibilities.
· To ensure that the delivery, monitoring and review of care packages are undertaken on regular basis and assessments and review visits are carried out as required.
· Regularly and frequently seek the views of the clients and take these views into place when initiating or changing care plans.
· To ensure events and outcomes of all client visits, carers, consultations, spot check, complaints, etc are recorded immediately following the event.
· To ensure a risk assessment is carried out at all clients’ homes initially, taking appropriate action from the results as required.

Resources

· Manage all resources (staffing, equipment, materials, supplies, etc) required to deliver the services provided by the Agency.
· Control expenditure against targets. Review all financial and management information, analyse variances and determine corrective action as required.
· Assist with the preparation of the Agency budget and to manage general financial information including staff payroll.

General
· To ensure that client/staff files are maintained and updated as required.
· To provide cover and deliver care as may be required from time to time when emergencies or short term requirements presents such a need.
· Ensure compliance with the Agency’s published Policies and Procedures at all times and comply with all relevant professional codes of practice.
· To participate in research and audit projects as requested and as appropriate.
· To liaise closely with other departments within the Hospice to ensure good communication.
